AMBULATORY DETOX FROM DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
The Ambulatory Detox program is the first step in a continuum of substance-abuse treatment that ultimately leads to recovery. To provide the least restrictive treatment setting possible, patients in ambulatory detox will receive treatment during the day and spend their nights at home.
We offer medically assisted detoxification which is designed to help individuals cope with withdrawal symptoms and successfully eliminate harmful substances from the body.
Not only are patients given medication and support under the care of our medical team, but they also receive therapeutic programming to learn more about their addiction, as well as relapse prevention skills to help manage and sustain their recovery.
Ambulatory detoxification has to been done in a safe environment where there are no substances available and where adequate supports are present throughout the process. Patients enrolled in Ambulatory detoxification are advised to do it from a safe home environment, for clients that do not have a safe home environment, we recommend that individuals pursue sober living while enrolled in our detox program. We are able to make referrals for available sober living facilities for those interested in this option.

ALCOHOL WITHDRAWAL TREATMENT

Alcohol withdrawal may be treated with a pharmacologic agent that exhibits cross-tolerance with alcohol. Agents that are commonly recommended include diazepam (Valium), lorazepam (Ativan), chlordiazepoxide (Librium), clorazepate (Tranxeme) and phenobarbital.
