Who is the program for?

GenPsych’s Healthy Eating And Living (HEAL) Program for Eating Disorders is currently available to adults (18+) and teens (13-18) at our Brick location. We cater to both male and female clients.

Clients in our program may be stepping down from an inpatient eating disorder program, stepping up from outpatient therapy, or beginning treatment for the first time. Upon admission, each client will be evaluated by our team to ensure that they meet program criteria. If necessary, we will make referrals to a higher level of care.

Can the HEAL Program treat other mental health issues?

Yes. It’s not uncommon for eating disorders to be accompanied by co-occurring disorders, such as mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and more. Upon admission, each client will receive a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that will be able to determine any co-occurring disorders that will be treated while in the HEAL Program.

faq-4
How long does treatment usually last?

The HEAL Program is roughly eight to twelve weeks, but clients may participate for shorter or longer periods of time depending on their individual needs and insurance coverage. While some clients are in program for just six weeks, others may continue for three to four months.

Talk to your HEAL treatment team if you have any specific questions about the length of your care or your individualized treatment plan.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

“I’ve been to other treatment facilities in NJ and have been in and out of hospitals. This was the first time I actually felt heard and respected.”

“It was a comfortable atmosphere, the docs were good and the food was pretty great too. They order from a local pizza place.”

“The people there were cool. You have to turn in your phone during group but I got used to it. I was suicidal before but now I’m not. I’d go back if I had to.”

“Finally, I have therapists that actually listen to me. I would recommend GenPsych to anyone who has tried other facilities and haven’t gotten results.”

“There were ups and downs and sometimes I wasn’t the easiest person to deal with, but they were patient with me and explained the process all the way through. The groups were awesome too!”
