NJ Drug & Alcohol Detoxification: Is Ambulatory Detox Right for You?

In 2015, nearly 70,000 people in New Jersey received treatment for addiction (NJ State Department of Human Services). Countless more, however, did not receive the treatment that they needed to recover. NJ Drug & Alcohol Detoxification is the first step for individuals who are struggling with addiction.

As the state of New Jersey works to address this epidemic, specifically through restrictions on opioid prescriptions and increased insurance coverage, GenPsych continues to provide a number of substance abuse treatment options that make recovery more accessible.

One of these programs is Ambulatory Detoxification. This outpatient detox option allows clients to safely and comfortably detox from all substances during the day, and return to their families and lives in the evening. Now available in Bridgewater.

NJ Drug & Alcohol Detoxification at GenPsych

Longer Care & Relief from Withdrawal Symptoms

GenPsych’s Ambulatory Detoxification program is able to accept all major private insurance plans. Our intensive treatment is billed at a much lower rate than inpatient detoxification, and is available to many clients who don’t meet criteria for detox coverage.

As a result, our clients receive 14-21 days (as necessary) of medicated detoxification. During this time, clients not only receive complete relief from withdrawal symptoms, but also can be properly tapered off of any withdrawal medication. With a shorter detoxification, clients are more likely to relapse and require repeat care.

Therapeutic Services & Skills Practiced Daily

In addition to detoxification, clients in our program receive therapeutic services, including daily skills and education groups. These services can be carried with clients not only when they go home in the evening, but throughout the rest of their recovery. (Partial Care and Intensive Outpatient Programs are available after discharge.)

While clients are in an isolated environment during the day, they are given the opportunity to return to their home environment in the evening, where they are able to practice the skills learned in treatment. Our daily program is able to address any relapses in recovery immediately, and bring clients back on track.

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to determine co-occurring disorders
