NJ Eating Disorder Facility

Eating Disorder Treatment

For those struggling with eating disorders, finding the appropriate treatment is crucial. Considered the deadliest of all psychological disorders, eating or feeding disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and eating disorders not otherwise specified (NOS) often require intensive medical care. A NJ Eating Disorder Facility can help an individual to regain control of their life and develop positive relationships with food and their body.

Types of Treatment

Inpatient Care

During an inpatient program, individuals are hospitalized and monitored 24/7. Patients live, eat, sleep, and attend program at a single facility. An inpatient program may be considered necessary for those who have co-occurring issues, such as depression, anxiety, or substance use, or if their condition is considered very severe. It is important to speak with your insurance company before entering an inpatient program to ensure coverage.

Outpatient Care

Outpatient eating disorder programs allow individuals to attend treatment during the day and return home in the evenings. Length and frequency of treatment vary upon the individual’s level of care. Clients will often participate in group meals during an outpatient program due to the importance of healthy eating skills for recovery. Some outpatient facilities, like GenPsych, will also treat co-occurring disorders.
